A team with a vision
for a world connected to their bodies, having unlearned fear and the desire to control the birthing experience, equipped with the tools to remember what their bodies already know.
Kat Morris
Perinatal Support, Childbirth Educator, holder of space, emotional validator
“I’m not here to give you an unmedicated birth, I’m here to give you an empowered one.”
Kat is a birth worker with a trauma-informed approach and a specialization in perinatal mental health. As a birth doula and childbirth educator, she supports and empowers families all over Middle Tennessee. A few years ago, though, she started to notice the intense rate of burnout in the birth-work field, and began developing a passion for creating community over competition to help support other birth workers as they built sustainable businesses of their own.
Eventually, that led to Terra Cotta Perinatal Services, a cooperative designed to support the whole birth worker as well as the whole client. In adding other providers to the team, TCPS has expanded its offerings to perinatal clients as well as adding more availability to the calendar. In forming this group as a cooperative, though, TCPS allows for other solo birth workers to maintain their own identities and practices with the practical and team support of a larger group.
Currently, Kat spends her time doing lots of administrative work and future planning for TCPS, teaching classes and coaching doulas, and taking pictures of sweet babies and growing families.
