Accessible Doulas

You know what breaks my heart? Well, a lot of things... I’m kind of a softie. But today what’s getting me down is the number of women I’ve talked to that said they would’ve loved to have had a doula but couldn’t afford to! Doula services and childbirth education should be accessible to ALL WOMEN who want it, can I get an AMEN?! 🙏🏼 So if you wish you could have a doula, but don’t think it’s within reach, here are a couple tips:

1) Did you know that you can REGISTER for your doula? There is a website - Babylist - where you can register for things from all shops and websites in one place, and even add “help and favors” and cash funds for doulas/diapers/parental leave - even college! I loved this site as an expecting mama, and love it even more as a birth professional.
2) Payment plans - doulas LOVE what they do and want to work with you. Find one that is willing to be flexible financially and create a payment plan that works.
3) Do you qualify for scholarships or sliding scale fees? Look for a doula who gives you options, discounts, even need based pricing. Trust me, they’re out there.
4) If you know you want a doula, ASK FOR ONE! Birthdays, Christmas, Mother’s Day - you can get the gift of doula support for more than just your baby shower.
5) ALL OF THE ABOVE! Find a combination that gets you to your goal because having a Doula is WORTH IT!

There are a ton of really passionate and awesome doulas across the country that provide this type of accessible option. If you live in Middle TN, Kat Morris Doula Services is one of them! I have scholarships, payment plans, bundle pricing and seasonal discounts available, as well as gift vouchers that never expire!
